So I'm definitely going to choose between these, I'm just not sure which.Dragon Warrior III is the third game in the long running Dragon Quest series (Formerly known as “Dragon Warrior” in North America, before Dragon Quest VIII released in 2004). The bottom line is, I'm less interested in experiencing dw3 as it was when I was a kid than I am in having a good experience now that I'm an adult. But I'm an experienced rpg gamer (phantasy star 2 is my favorite jrpg) so maybe this hack is right up my alley. And since the hack changes so much, none of the guides online can be relied on. However, I occasionally like to look up stuff like spell details or stats for weapons or whatever. The reviews all appear to be positive and the author genuinely seems to know what they're doing. And it restores stuff that was censored in north america.Īnd the other ( Dragon Warrior 3 Hardtype) appears to be an across the board rebalance. I tried it out and it was nice to not have to read a bunch of thees and thous. The first ( Dragon Quest III: Delocalized) claims to have done a "complete retranslation from the original Japanese text along with numerous bug fixes, restorations and highly conservative improvements." It looks like a legit project with several years of work behind it. For dw3, there are two hacks I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with. But first, I always check for rom hacks before starting old games to see if there are any bug fixes or quality of life improvements I might be interested in adding. Anyway, while I did go on to become a huge rpg nerd, I never got back to dw3.įast forward to now and I'm just about to start playing it. I remember watching my friend play it this one time for honestly what seemed like hours. I was almost 14 when dw3 came out on the nes.
